Rolling Dice
Entrepreneurship is luck. Roll the dice more often.
A lot of entrepreneurship is luck.
You can have the right team, work hard, build a good product, and still fail because the timing was wrong, the market was too small, or customers simply didn't care enough.
You cannot completely control luck. But you can control how many times you get a chance to be lucky.
Instead of spending three years trying to make one idea work, make your attempts cheaper and faster. Build the smallest version. Put it in front of people. Try to sell it. If nobody cares, learn something and roll again.
This doesn't mean changing ideas every week without learning anything. Every roll should make the next one better.
The objective is simple:
Fail fast enough that you can afford to try again.
You don't need every idea to work.
You need one of them to work.
