Boring businesses
You can probably do better than your old uncle.
Some of the best businesses are incredibly boring.
Accounting. Cleaning. Logistics. Printing. Recruitment. Property management. Stamps. Insurance. Maintenance.
They existed before you were born and will probably exist after you die.
That's exactly what makes them interesting.
You don't need to convince the world that the problem exists. People already spend money solving it.
Instead, look at how these businesses operate and ask:
"What would the best possible version of this business look like if it was created today?"
Maybe customers can order online instead of calling.
Maybe pricing can be transparent.
Maybe half of the operations can be automated.
Maybe the website doesn't need to look like it was built in 2007.
Maybe software can make ten employees as productive as twenty.
Entrepreneurship doesn't always mean creating the future.
Sometimes it means taking something old and building the version that should already exist.
